Terms of use

Lingo Lantern provides supplemental Mandarin and English practice. It is not an official curriculum, accredited course, diagnostic instrument, proficiency test, special-education service, tutoring guarantee, or substitute for a qualified educator. Rewards and progress indicators describe activity inside the app; they are not grades or official language-proficiency results. Rewards are earned through fixed learning rules and do not involve randomized prizes, wagering, real-money purchases, paid chances, or loss of earned progress.

A parent, guardian, educator, or other responsible adult should supervise use by children. A learner should use a nickname or generic alias and should not enter an email address, district identifier, legal name, or other sensitive information. A school or district may direct student use only after completing its required technology, privacy, accessibility, instructional, and purchasing reviews. Public availability does not mean Canyons School District or any other district has approved the app.

• Use the service for lawful educational, family, evaluation, or professional-review purposes.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, scrape at harmful volume, or misrepresent the product as district-approved.
• Do not upload or enter student records, sensitive personal information, unlawful content, or content you lack permission to use.
• Do not remove branding or reproduce substantial product content for resale without written permission.

Optional speech practice depends on the user’s browser or operating-system speech service. Sharing, installation, microphone, and offline behavior also depend on the device. Third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. Lingo Lantern provides non-microphone practice alternatives, and users can revoke microphone permission in browser or device settings.

SaltMark Design may maintain, improve, suspend, or discontinue features. The public preview is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent allowed by law, SaltMark Design does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free content, a specific learning outcome, or compatibility with every device. District pilot service levels, warranties, data obligations, and remedies should be stated in a separate written agreement.

Lingo Lantern’s original software, design, text, artwork, and product identity are owned by SaltMark Design or used with permission. Users retain rights in feedback they provide, while granting SaltMark Design permission to use non-confidential feedback to improve the product. Do not send student-identifying information with feedback.
